Get your mind out of the gutter! Ha..no really we would’ve thought along those lines too.

OK, we do realize this is completely 7 years ago but it’s recent to us as of late anyways. WHY on earth are you Facebook poking me? Seriously.

When we typed in Facebook Poking on Google, one of our favorite sites popped up; Urban Dictionary. Here’s the first definition:

When bitches want to have sex, so they push the poke button on Facebook to say they are dtf.

Well, isn’t that super. So, my little Spanish friend from work and an ex hook-up are both sharing their interest in poking me? If that isn’t romantic, what is?

Was Mark Zuckerberg trying to create the easiest way to initiate a booty-call without actually having to call or speak to that person at all? Fail. If you want a hook-up buddy you better develop that personality, Facebook can only take you so far.

Don’t be a D-bag and don’t poke, so 2006.

Filling the Cracks of Life

Betties,

It’s the Monday post thanksgiving and the madness Black Friday brings. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday shared with your loved ones.

After dropping my iPhone and cracking the back screen. I had an Epiphany. I went into the apple store spending too much time looking at all the covers. I purchased a Kate Spade one that’s pink. After putting the cover over my phone I noticed that you could see the cracks around the camera.

It made me realize no matter how many cracks you have in your life covering them up does nothing but sweep it under a rug (iPhone cover in this case). The only way to fix it, is to reflect upon your self. To understand what it will take to fix those ‘cracks’. Some may be deeper than others. Some may only barely scratch the surface. Ok, say something about very few things in life can be covered, in any aspect and the only way to not cover things up is to have pride in yourself and know that everyone has their own “cracks” up people respect the honesty of not letting everything be a cover up.

No matter how hard you try to cover up whether it be a cracked phone or cracks in your life, people who really know you will see the cracks and they’re the ones who care the least.

It’s Monday. It’s time to start working on fixing anything you aren’t happy with. The first step is recognizing a change needs to be made. We will be self-reflecting today and we hope you all do too.

Be Yourself

If there is one thing we have learned through not only growing up and naturally maturing but also through this blog, it is: to always be yourself.

See here’s the thing; life is not fair, but were sure you all know that by now. Regardless, whatever happens throughout your day, at the end you are still you, and that’s something you should be proud of.

About a week ago, we saw a very dear friend of ours with a Facebook status that said:”Even if not everyone likes me, at the end of the day at least I know that I am being myself.” That simple statement made us really think about what our lives are, have been and will be.

Why are we writing about this? It’s a lesson we want to portray to everyone we can. Just like the post “A Quick Favor” from last week we want to help and inspire anyone we can.

True Story: when we first started this blog, we were very hesitant to tell our close friends and family about it for fear of laughter and rejection. That is a normal fear. Then we snapped back to ourselves realized that this was something we WANT and from then on we have gone full force into making it and hoped for the best. We know that our good friends wish the best for us and support us and that is all anyone really needs.

In summary Betties, be who you are! No, not everyone is going to like you..get over it. Toughen up and show your true colors, people will respect you for it..promise:)
